Lures vs Reels

Hi all

I am new to Sealine but enjoying the site already.

I have been hooked on bass fishing for about 7 months and i just cant stop buying lures, rods n reels.  I think it an obsession!  I fish almost every weekend.

I have a spinning reel and two baitcaster reels.  I have caught a few largemouth bass but am still uncertain as to what types of lures are used with spinning reels and what type with baitcaster reels.

Any assistance?

No hard and fast rules but baitcasters allow you to cast a bit more accurate.

I prefer my baitcasters for cranking and pitching a texas rig and use my spinning reels for things like dropshot and weightless and light mojo rigs.

hi
I have just 1 spinning reel with a 5:1 ratio and i use for all my lures.however ive found that cranks and jerks work better with this reel than say carolina rigs or weightless worms

Hi there

I,ve got one baitcaster spooled with nylon that I use for hard bodied lures, jigs, anything with a bit of weight really, and one spinning reel spooled with braid that I use for all my soft plastics, all the really light stuff.

I found that I really battled to get any sort of distance with soft plastics on the baitcaster, especially when fishing from the bank.

Hope it helps
