Lures for a newbie

When I took up lure fishing and dropshot I asked the same question to people at tackle shops. Here's some of the stuff they reccomended me with a few items I have found usefull when lure fishing...

General Equipment:

• Quick release clips
• A good pair of scissors
• Multi-tool or Pliers
• A few Clear plastic boxes
• I prefer to use a tackle bag instead of a box as it makes moving around much easiar

Lures:

• 2 or 3 Strike Pro Thai sticks (I prefer plain white and redhead, but it doesn't really matter)
• Jigheads (I carry a about 8 of them with me for fishing dropshot with soft plastics.)
• Bucktails (A gamtoos special is my favourite)
• McArthy or Berkley soft plastics (My favourites are the berkley GULP 6" camo worm and the McArthy 5" Jerk minows in baby elf)

I hope this has furthered your cause! Good luck on the water... ;)
