Lowrance x 126 DF Advice

Does anyone have one / have an opinion on the X126DF?

I am looking for a simple fishfinder for my rubberduck, don't have much space for mounting, battery etc,  but most of the portable units look too low res / are single frequency.  Is this a good option?  What are the pitfalls / alternatives?

I have also been looking at this unit. I am still undecided between this and the furuno ls-4100.

The lowrance has got a better resolution 480x480 vs the 240x320 of the furuno. According to specs the transducer power of the lowrance is 2 times that of the furuno (300wrms vs 600wrms). Miles told me that the output power doesn't mean too much which made some sense to me. If the power isn't measured under the same conditions (under some standard) then it means crap - similar to car audio amps and speakers.

I think in the end it will be wise to choose a unit that someone else close by has great knowledge of. If you know someone with this unit and the guy knows his finder and is willing to teach you then by all means by it rather than buying something else and having to figure out everything yourself! Its not cheap learning these things from scratch nowadays!

So all in all I have nothing really to offer you and I hope someone can shed some light onto this matter for us!
