Hi

I am going to Loteni for a few days in Dec. I have fished the Bushmans at Giants Castle a few times before.  Whats the fishing at Loteni like. Is the river more or less the same? Any tips iro nice beats, of areas, flies etc wil be appreciated

The fishing is not too different to the Bushmans. My favourite stretch is from Cool Pools back upstream to the camp. Dry fly works well. Royal Wulff is good.

Lotheni is difficult river fishing- you may catch small browns depending on the river levels-it's small stream fishing. The view makes up for the fishing though. Whilst you are in the area you should complete the loop road to Underberg and try do some fishing in the Umzimkulu R. UHTFC has beats but I think only for members but there are anumber of B&B's with river frontage and fishing. The UHTFC has great stillwaters for offer on day tickets.
