LOSKOP Dam

Any idea relating to the best dam / pond with various lilly pads & typical frog water ? Quite new to bass fishing although i have been lucky at times.
Invested in two rather expensive frogs but one can see from the pic that they will fool pretty much anything.
Needless to say that i am very keen to catch a good fish on them before the summer leaves us.
I even had strikes in open water on these, biggest though 2.2 kg's

Hi,
Going to Loskop dam this weekend and I was wondering if anyone has caught anything there recently.
We staying at the forever resorts so I would be grateful for any info on a few spots to try round there and which lures to use.
I have a small inflatable with an electric motor so distances are limited.
Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

Oh okay, still a nice fish
Loskop generally fishes well this time of year. You will be limited with a duck but the good news is that the fish are very accessible this time of year. The banks from Aventura working down towards the dam wall are prime spawning banks. There should still be many fish around and if not shallow on the beds then just move off deeper.
The water is nice and clear at the moment and sight fishing at Loskop is great fun.
Fluke type baits, senkos in natural colours - junior flukes as well.... the less weight the better and light line is a must. Make long casts and fish ultra slow.
If there is some cloud cover don't hesitate to throw topwater.

Awesome Cage, I do appreciate it. Nice fish!
I've got 2 batteries which = 210ah so I should be able to do to the dam wall and back.
It looks all clear for Saturday and Friday afternoon, fingers crossed.
I've got some white/pearl flukes which I read work well there.
Also have a variety of watermelon seed so fingers crossed.

No worries, PM me in need of anything else. I was there about 3 weeks back over that August cold front weekend and struggled for a big fish but we got plenty (also had great fun throwing jerkbait (rapala x rap when the wind was blowing over the points). I know of a number of 4 kilo plus fish that have come out over the past 2 weeks.
You dont have to venture all the way to the wall, from the launch at Aventura go up towards the wall and start fishing from the first point on the right and just work your way up. The area around the second point is currently prime water as the water level is low so there are rocks and little bushes in 6-12ft of water everywhere (obviously heaven for any bass in the love-making mood!)...

Great thanks Cage, now I'm screwed for the rest of the week! all I'll be thinking about is fishing not that that's any different from normal, but now I'll be totally distracted . . .
