Looking for Save place To fish for Carp

Happy New Year!

I was wondering if anyone can help me?

I live in Pretoria and i'm looking for a place to go Carp fishing.

I want to take my wife with so safety will be important.

And the fishing must be not bad, want to atleast catch something

I know after all this rain it will be difficult but we planning on going beginning of Feb.

So please if anyone can help me I'll be very very happy!

I'm planing to go to Mar Leo but i hear they catch basicly only barber?

Where you do normaly go and what do you target/?

Hi,

We used to fish the following area's but haven't been there for a while now,

Mar Leo

Old Transvaal fishing grounds

Baits we use are worms for Kurper and Barbel and floaties and dough backing for carps.

We now go to Meerhof in Harties and the fishing is good there.

Been to meerhof but i love Ifafi.

How is the fishing and conditions lately at Harties?

Hi,

We use plain supercast bom with various dips(Depends whats working)

Went to Meerhof on the 08/01/2010 and we caught about 14 carp around 1 - 3kg and 1 barbel (Used worms and a floatie)around 4kg.

Baits were Floaties (Rasberry,banana,caramel and honey)

Dips were anything sweet

Used FX on the bom (Plain supercast)

Try meerhof!close by, green grass till the waters edge,lekker ablution block,street lights next to the water,nice fishing,caught close to 80 carps there on an overnighter on new years,safe,lekker crowd not the rowdy a..holes that are almost everywhere nowadays.

Good fish coming out there at the moment!
yes they have lights at the water but no plug points!
with regards to the rains lots of crap has been washing into the dam but fishings still good!

anything almond... there used to be elec plugs in the lamp poles... think they took it out due to mis use...
