Looking at taking the family there camping/fishing soon, before the big chill settles in.

Has anyone on this forum been there recently,  that can give an informed report. ?

1) 1st and foremost....is it safe to camp (heard some nasty stories about robberies etc going on)

2) Whats the fishing like ? (heard they were taking out all the carp at one stage)

3) Condition of water and place in general ?

4) Anyone know the rates to camp? (their website is plonked)

Would appreciate any valid input.

Dont go there... Last time i was there the fishing was good, but the place was not maintained. Grass were waist high, refuse not removed, dam duikers leaving their campsites dirty, bushes everywhere, toilets broken down etc... Rather try ifafi or meerhof, meerhof doesnt have a swimming pool but does have adequate ablution and top fishing. Ifafi is better for the kids but not so good fishing.

Was at eagle waters the past weekend. Fishing wasn't to bad and conditions was very good. There is security patrolling the whole time. Camped next to a guy that has been there for 2 weeks and he has had no problems. Water was a bit green in the late afternoon and early evening but crystal clear in the mornings. Boats did bother a bit but not to much. Hope you have a boat because you have to go in deep, it is very shallow very far.
Hope this helps a bit.
