Well Nash, seems you are right. I'm on my own. Looks like I'll be going there next Saturday. Will post feedback on the venue.

It's still new, and not many members fished it. I know of a proper team of 4-6 anglers going in December, so info would be very valuable...

Did you go to Loch Nest?  if so how did it go? And was it easy to find? i spoke to the owener a few weeks ago and he was working in Nelspruit at that time.

I had a quick chat to him and he said that some guys have caught a few nice carp over 10kg on floats. But he has never had specimen angelers fished there before.

So if you did go give us a heads up on what to expect. Seems like you would have been one of the first.

schelton, I don't know. SCAS have a prize for the forst 20 lbs that gets caught at that venue, which means it is not a proven big fish water.

Will have to wait and see wheter the venue actually produce big fish.

SdB, I still want to give it a go. I'm looking forward to trying this unventured water. Let's hope the water can be "proven" this Saturday - by me......LOL!!!

I think its good that we still have so many dams with unknown potential. Who knows, Lochnest might just become a big fish venue... if you look at Lesotho's Kraal, it was an unknown venue at first, and the biggest known fish from that dam was only a mid-20 pounder...but after a few months of angling there's been some 30's and I believe a 40 out....

Positive thinking - I'm hoping to discover the water's potential and landing a new PB this weekend!

Hopefully I come back with good news and not a disappointment.......^^..

Hey sorry guys, but not good news. Not even one bite. The venue is however really great: clean and neat. Easy to find and the owners very friendly. Not all the facilities are completed yet but it looks great.

Saw a lot of fish activity but no takers. I WILL go to this venue again.

The water is reasonably clean and the foto's on the SACS site doesn't do the venue justice - looks much better than on the foto's.

The owners have big plans for the venue and they are catering for the decent anglers, not the trouble makers.

The water lever was about 350mm higher with all the rain, not sure what effect the funny weather last week had on our session???

Sorry Hennie - only saw your question now - it is just North of Pretoria.

Feel free to ask questions, as I'm sure you guys might have some.

A special mention about "Bulla" - the anglers friend and watchdog. This little dog spent most of the time with us and kept us safe. Friendly little fellow!
