I've enquired at a local tackle dealer if they have a reel / trade in facility - where U take in your old reels in exchange for a new one & pay the cash difference (surely there will be) - I have done this before with the same dealer so I wanted to know if he'll do me a deal this time round. These reels are in mint condition and have recently been serviced.  

Here's the detail:

x 3 Shimano Aero GTE Baitrunners with Aluminium spools

x 4 Plastic (Bakelite) spools

I want 3 of these: 10000 XTE

Any thoughts welcome - anyone here know of someone willing to do a deal .. I will "consider" all offers as well !!!

Not entirely sure yet -- I was thinking around R950 (neg) .... They are sourcing 2 more 10000's for me..... hopefully they'll get it.

what is he willing to pay ???

Okay thanks bud the construction industry is not doing well enough for me to outlay 3k on reels - I think the minister of finance, sports and recreation would also be a bit "cheezed".

No worries - I understand. I have spoken to a dealer & he wants to see them & probably make an offer on a trade in. Not also gonna "just let it go" even to a dealer -

Even so keep me posted if things improve !!! I might still have them !!!

We shall see !!!

Here's a joke - went to Mias last Thursday - "he'll consider a trade in for the 10000XTE range" Anyway I got there with 1 of the reels & the spools etc ... He is offering R200 per reel ....& that he tells me with a straight face - I almost died laughing, hell I must have looked desperate to sell.

I reckon he'll sell them & make 100% profit. Anyway I'm not desperate so I'll be keeping my reels.

Hey Basspro... those guys are smoking some serious stuff man, but they wont give you a good deal ever... best to advertise yourself or as you say hang on to them.

Yeah they have some of the worst customer service in the country I think - how some people stay in business is questionable.

A friend advised I should advertise in Junk Mail & it automatically shows in The Bank Angler. I think I'll hold on to them as U say - not worth selling a good thing.

One thing tho' - I showed it to a few "so called anglers / specimen anglers" & I seem to pick up that they cannot appreciate quality or "something that has given service" & "being looked after"

Best I hold onto them me thinks !!!
