That will probably be a lifelong debate. Different strokes for different blokes. Some guys will swear by the one and some guys will hate them.

I think there's a debate on these two issues at least once a week on Sealine!!

A cat hull under 5m does not like a head on chop.

The other advantage of the mono hulls is they often have under deck hatches which the cats don't.

The cat can run on smaller HP outboards which is plus on the fuel consumption.

Like Boatman said,different strokes ........

You get good monos and good cats

Then you get also get bad ones of both.

Most cat RIBs have too shallow a tunnel and the pound.

I went on an explorer, for the first time and I was not impressed at all.

My Deep vee RIB is miles softer, but I loose deckspace.

You need to go ride some boats and judge for yourself.

If you want small and light, you trade ride quality, but going bigger, you have other problems, like tow vehicle, crew and storage space.

A superduck is the best ride, but then you are dealing with a big boat.
