Lets say I have bought material from Dyechem to ma

No preservative needed but mixing with carriers is needed as the concentrates as they are are way to strong for fishing.
Most of the top bait manufacturers however make use of EFF and Royal rather than Dyechem as their concentrates are purer and stronger but only available in 25kg

Obviously being in the bait business i can't give you all the tips but yes the concentrate has to be mixed in with one of the following
Glycol
Glucose
Syrup
Puratex
Glycerine
The reason being that commercial concentrates are way to strong especially those of EFF and Bushbauck or Royal, not so much those of Dyechem

I like using glycerine, available in all supermarkets, is inexpensive, odourless, water soluble and doesn't go thick when cold (winter angling). It's actually classified as a type of alcohol therfore a good preservative meaning the stuff can stand for months without going "off"
