Hi

I would appreciate some info on this venue.

I understand that it is a very difficult venue to master and most anglers spend their whole session without even a hint of a bite and very frustrated, including myself.

To anyone's knowledge, have any decent Carp been landed recently and what is the code to cracking this tough water?

I would like to give it another go as I spotted some really big fish in the margins.

Approach it with a proper long term boilie campaign. You just don't go to low stock big fish waters and catch without preperation.

Apparently Lesothos kraal fish were moved or washed over.to the bottom dam. Ask sacs they will tell u.

Plenty Barbel in the dam. May be worth the effort if they can be managed.

In previous posts you mentioned that you were busy with a venue of your own.

Don't waste your time, there are very little if any carp left in that dam.

Public, unmanaged venues for me only.

Same here for short sessions, don't always have time for SACS venues due to traveling distance. My son is immigrating to Australia at the end of the year so I am a bit concerned about the safety aspect when fishing alone overnight.

Safety is a concern at most of our dams, therefore I try not to fish alone. If possible I use private venues at certain dams but we also make use of motion sensors and I have recently acquired a firearm.

It is an unfortunate reality. The only thing we can do is take precautions as you mentioned Hennie , giving up our passion that is Specimem angling due to criminal elements is not an option!

Pleasure. Barbel is not a problem on proper boilie campaigns. They dont really like boilies.
