Lekker Winter Cobbie

A couple reports came through of some cob being landed at strandfontein side, so it was decided to put out a chokka bait and let it lie... In the hope of getting a vaalie or a cobbie.. The wind was Strong and we saw the rod bouncing a couple times, but waited a while before inspecting the bait. As I tightend up, I felt some weight and thought it might be a flatfish of some sorts, but big was my surprise when the surf pulled back and a beaut kob of 79cm flapped on the sand. Heeee haaaa. The 10/0 circle stuck in the corner of its mouth. The fish was so tired, it was probably on for a while...lol. So, a bit of luck is always welcome!

I cut n long, thick strip of tjokka, rolled it into a tube, and put the circle through the thin part, leave the hook completely open. It resembled a occie leg, and I didn't hammer it, to many peckers..
