The place is fishing badly due to the weather. But when it heats up it will be cooking again

November is the best!! Me and my friend caught about 90 to 100 each on one day, but the sad thing was that most of them was rats(small ones) just one or two piggys...but hey i got some tips for bass lake and now im ready for those piggys!!i can unfortunatly just go in november again....such a sad thing that it isnt open on weekends!!maybe they can partition a bit of just for fishing?

well...my personal experience is that if you cast just let it drop to the bottom.twich it up and down until they bite...drop shot also works lekker cos the piggys are at the bottom of the lake...worms doesnt really work for those piggys cos they are quite clever...but the rats will take it no questions asked.
Flukes and swimtails wokrs very well for the big boys...or anything big the small one cant eat...
Another thing that works is...if you hook a small one...get it out...hook the hook through his top and bottom lip and let it go free in the water again...give it line for about a couple of meters check it out youll see a couple of big ones circleing it the hole time until one of them will chow him and fish on.

I am not a fan of using live bait but if you do hook a small fish and the big fish hits it strait there and then, then yes that goes. But hooking a small fish on the hook can get you banned from basslake

Storm lures have a swimtail thingy that all the pictures of really decent fish at Bass lake claims to have been the bait of choice, I've tried it but it sinks once you stop or slow down the retrieve.

NOW this is My take on the Lake. (for the big ones)

You gotta get a fish-like lure that suspends a couple of feet beneath the surface, wait for the big bank cruisers to make the appearance, drop that a couple of meter's away and suspended drag it towards the cruiser and entice him/her and then HOLD ONTO YOUR ROD (hopefully you've checked the drag before all this) and shout for some-one to get the camera, the scale and to phone the wife for something that'll come to mind a bit later........

(small ones chows grubs) anyway you rig, retrieve them and in most of the watermelon colours......

But you'd rather have somebody do all the fecthing of things and calling the wife right? riiiiight., so go search for such a suspending lure, soft would be better but get it in a size of at least a 200 to 300 gram bass, NO JOKES.
