L&F Archipelago STX

[FISH ASSASSIN]

Hi to all.

Advice needed.

With the cooler season approaching here in Zululand the kob should be appearing soon. Although I have caught plenty before on bait I have never caught one on artificial lures, including dropshot.

Done some homework and decided on a L&F Archipelago. I already have a 11' 1-3 ounce but want to get a 1.5-4 ounce as well. But which one? 12' should give me some extra casting distance(?) but the 11' should be easier on the wrist and arms.

So which one?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

With artificial lures I think the more casts you get the better chance you have of catching the fish, hence I would go for the 11. Both rods are excellent.

I had the 11ft rod.
Sold it and got the 12ft.
Still putting it through its paces.

weight wise there is not much difference.
the 12ft did crack at the reel seat, so im waiting for the replacement rod.

for the 11ft, which size reel do you recommend? Shimano size 5000?

In the 11' you get heavy; the 1-3oz and the XH 1.5-4oz
Which one did you have and the reason for selling it?

I've had the Daiwa Excellor 10'6" for many years which has been a great spinning rod and been looking at the 11' heavy Archipelago to see if I could get an extra 20-30m so keen to hear your views on the rod.

a bit late but the Shimano 5000 will work very well on the 11'
