KZN SPEAROS ID PLEASE

@Capespearo and Sias

Remember how easily the 4X4 beach ban was implemented. I take no credit/blame for it, but the entire off-roading community paid the price due to the actions of a few.

If you want me to really try to ban you guys- here's a start:

Offences by your fraternity cannot be policed, due to the nature of your sport. You guys are hit and run experts.

Unlike shore anglers, the sea creatures do not have a fair and fighting chance against you guys, the propensity to deplete breeding stock is very high.

You guys have access to areas and reefs beyond the reach of anglers, fish stocks do not have a chance to recover.

I know ex-spearos who can provide first hand evidence why the sport should be banned. Like I said, I know people..

Suddenly it is not an emotive issue anymore and responsible spear fishermen will pay the price for the actions of the mavericks

So Tsunama, why am I targeted now ? Told you the whole story of our trip last week. So why are you noting Gustav Campher, Roelof du Plooy AND myself ? What did I do wrong ? Well prima facie I did absolutely nothing wrong . . . But yeah, you really are full of it aren't you. Ou Carlos, wish I could meet you in person.

Like in any fishing sector it only takes a few to make all look bad.

Banning spearfishing not a solution to saving the fish stocks.

Ethical sustainable fishing is what is required- regardless of your chosen fishing method.

I think you should just sit back while the adults talk and maybe listen to people that know what they are talking about. As I have said before i think you should show some respect for someone more than double your age as you are acting like a spoilt little 22 year old.

All you are doing now is coming across as an arrogant law student(with "student" being the operative word). Do you think there arent people on this site that are actually further than 3rd year law and have actually done and passed their boards and are actually practising law? If you were at that level then you may just realise that you cant always jump on your legal high horse and that its sometimes better to listen to people and look at the situation as a whole.

This is not so much a thing of law but more so of ethics. You have gone to someone else's country, raped there fish stocks and gone onto be smug about it without thinking about the consequences it has on us South Africans, spearfishermen and anglers etc. Tsutsuma has done more for conservation and fish stocks that you could ever imagine. Your immaturity shines through...

Sais du Plooy to Me

Is this possible guys ??

His Heading to me is " HI OU TANNIE"

Then this :

>>>Oh no not ashamed at all, proud actually on all my accomplishments in law school. Actually big firms already talking about what big things I will accomplish one day. As for you, old and grey and in my eyes not worth respecting at all, enjoy your hobby of frying small fish, like young guys having a nice time and you have nothing constructive to say. I on the other hand have a lot bigger fish to fry in the future<<<<<

I am/was a spearo, fisherman rolled into one. I've pretty much stopped spearfishing now due to the fact that many unethical spearos have tainted the sport and unfortunalty now all spearos get painted with the same brush!! Bottom line is whether you were in your bag limits or not if you were a conservation minded individual you would not have taken so many fish out! The fact that you mentioned you smuggled fish out, I find quite disturbing as you claim to be a law student yet do not abide by "THE LAW"? I usually don't respond to these sort of posts however made an exception in this case as I do not want to be type cast as one of those South Africans that conduct themselves in this manner!

First of all remember i'm argumenting in my second and weak language but i'll try to explain. Id much rather would love to meet you and Tsunamakiki in person to have an open debate on the matter at hand. Not threatening you big guy, I wouldn dream of it. Okay, only dream ;-)

1. Your first comment on the 4x4 ban is absolutely irrelevant to the matter at hand. due to the absolute different merrits of the case. I mean, one is about designated driving spots and the other in the fishing industry. Land trafficing vs. Ocean fisheries. You sound stupid to say that. But yes you are correct, a few people did cause that, Drunken drivers on the beaches which led to the deaths of PEOPLE (Not fish).

2. Banning spearfishing as the cause to depleting fish stock = NONSENSE. Do you know anything about spearfishing as a sport ? Lets say I do about 60 dives a day, in an area about as big as your backyard ! With visibility of lets say 10 metres. Now I dive about 6 or 7 hours. And I bring out 6 fish. I do this once a year.
BUT why dont you look at the chinese, watch blue planet, see the bigger picture, Trawlers, HUNDREDS of kilometers, catching HUNDREDS of fish, EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. Sundays included.

Directing all this attention to 3 guys on a nice mozam trip once a year, within the regulated catch amount is just sad.

3. Spearfishers can reach places no anglers can. Wow, a 4 metere boat in the ocean. Yah, its going to deplete the stocks. Big threat. Direct your attension to bigger problems.Anglers on their boats like Tsukamiki do lets say 40 km a day of surface area. Bringing out 280kg marlin and stuff. And loads of fish (and now Tsunamiki is going to say he tags and release because he is conserving the oseans S.O.S - save our seas. But then again, Ethics, your subjective ethics which you cant force unto anyone. If they want to keep their fish and eat it, by all means. Not your problem. (Im with you on that, SOS, I love the marine live, I love scubba diving and all that, And sustainable development of our fishing stocks) BUT DIRECTING IT AT 3 GUYS and leading to this huge debate in stead of sayin. (Try shooting less fish, thats a lot - BUT Tsunami here, Wanting their ID, Seeing that it got into the mozam newspaper, posting it on several social media sites ect.- WOW, you've got a lot of time hey buddy)

I know i sound like such an ******. But this dispute touched me, firstly the slandering comments on the amount of fish we shot (whithin the legal limmits by the way). And yes sir you are saying law vs. ethics. This is a democratic world, and i'm stunned to think that YOU say different people should have your subjective ethics. Yes, maybe we shot 17 fish that day between the guys. Oh damn. I got a little trigger happy because its been a LONG time since i went spearfishing. (Lock me up for that, wow) Ignorant you are to anything I have to say.

And yes I may be young, and an arrogant law student. That may be how I am, but its gotten me far. I am NOT afraid to stand up for myself. No matter who, or what you are. That is just who I am.

And the guy Saying that I, as a law student that should respect the law but we brought fish tail buck illegally or whatev. Get your facts right, I wasnt even on that trip in December 2012. So keep your opinions for yourself, I do respect the law. I follow it by the letter. all these comments here are speculations, subjective opinions and so on so forth.(debate)

PS the "ou tannie" thing. I call everyone that if I think they are making a big deal of something not even remotely worthy of it. Soos n ou tannie wat van lekker skinder hou. Sorry If I offended you with that.

Okay, I think im done.

Yes Roelof is my brother, and a great spearo. Post what you want, when you want. Im done. I was defending him against your first posts about the fish on the lawn. Coz I know we did nothing wrong. All i know about their december trip is the photos gustav posted.

In regards to the comment gustav left i didnt know anything about till now. Only joined today to see what the uproar was about. I was directed by my father.

So stop all the slandering shit, I dont care who you are, how old you are or WTF ever. Dont know about the limpopo guys, you can tell me what happend. The facts. Id like to know.

No action can be taken in any form outside a court, what you say, what I say is just speculation. This shit must just stop coz i loved our vacation as it was before you started this whole thing.

Good for you. Its a tough degree. I'm all for having a beer. What I'm saying is before you get your back up against the wall rather listen to everyones opinions and what they have to say and use it or don't use it but have some respect for people that have done plenty for our sport and the conservation of fish stocks too. They all have good intentions.

You are young and have alot to learn and so do I and trust me, you can learn alot from people on this site.

Tight lines.

How do I unfollow this thread? It needs to die. The point of this was to name the Spearo's in the pic. They have been named. Thread ended.

I think that this has gone on long enough. I have leaned a great deal from this. Some really 'funny' moments and comments, but it has now reached ridiculous!!!

Cheers,
L
