It seems to be happenning. the nets were lifted today, there is a lot of sardine activity at Red Sands which is approx 15km South of Port Edward. a strong southwesterly wind blowing and a good chance of seeing the elusive little fish by the weekend. Tight Lines Lance Grobler

Yeah - Roll on the Sards!!!!! Maybe the guys fishing the Mallards comp at Shelley Beach will get some benefits?

If a 30Kg couta comes out on day 1, there could be some crocodiles boated over the rest of the comp. Taking home a new Cobra is a big incentive.

ye unfortunatley the cobra will only go to the biggest Tuna, the crocodiles hunt the cars in this comp. Ha Ha must sound as if we are talking Swahili to the untrained ear.

Im sure it must be a hell of a fight, and I hope that one day when Im big I wll catch one from the beach / Rocks of that size,  I got one  of 24kg is my biggest and that was awesome. I had another bite straight away but it broke the 6/0 Diachii in half ( we had to come back from Moz with at least 1 war story). sorry no photo ESA copy rights.

Hi Lance, spoke to Onde Onda (Johann) last night and he said that a Couta of 19.6Kg was weighed in. Not sure which boat or angler, but apparently was the only one on the board. Someone fishing further South maybe? Shelley Launch was closed yesterday as it was called a 'Blow Out'. Onde said that today was looking good to launch.

Will be interesting to see if anyone runs South to look for action around the Sard shoals..... if they are within range. There could be some decent swimming Sashimi that could result in a new boat for someone?

Cheers, RB
