cranks with a tight wobble too. get them down fast and then slow down the retreive.

as VR says very slow if fishing plastics

OK, so, to report back, the only boat on kwaggas - misty, windless beautilfull morning!

It stayed like this for the entire day till 16:00, then the NW wind came and turned kwaggas into the ocean.

3 fish only.

10:05 - +/- 1 to 1.5kg large mouth (line broke on pick up) - texas rigged Zoom green albino fluke (4") water depth 6ft(about)

14:00 - 380gsm large mouth - orange and gold Vibrax blue fox no 3 inline spinner water depth same.

14:45 - +/- 2kg small mouth (had it almost in net twice, then came off hook) - Storm deep diver crank - white with red hooks.

We fished non stop from 8:00 till 16:00 having coffee and sammies whilst moving to the next spot - tried all depths, and lures, and spots. worked really hard.

The last fish attacked the crank while i was sorting out a small overwind - its a sinking crank - when i saw the water twirl i winded the access line and STROKED it- haha!!! what a fight, jumped 3 times in 25m, was very cool - smallies are mad!!! could not get it to calm down, was probably to cautios and should have just pulled it strait into the boat, but because i lost one earlier, and this one was a goooooon, i was nervous!

SO.... it was still a good outing!

any one have a second hand foot control trolling motor for sale? bass fishing without is, is really hard!

Thanks for the advice! V

We went through on Saturday, arrived around 9AM and what a stunning day it was. Within the first hour Ms Bassassin landed a smallie of around 1.1KG on a crank from a blue gum tree standing in around 3 foot of water. We tried the wall ~ nothing, smallie bay ~ nothing, the stumps ~ nothing, then we moved on along the bank and met up with another angler who was slaughtering them in very shallow water on a grub and DT10.

Between 2 PM and 3 PM we landed 3 largies on soft plastics in the recently flooded trees in shallow water in the same area, then as suddenly as it started it went dead again. Those fish hit the lure aggresively, there was no finesse or delicate bullsh#t about the strikes, and the fish were strong, putting up a lively fight.

We left at 4PM after a stunning day on the water which was like glass for the entire time.
