Kosi cat performance

Hi there,

I have a Kosi 16 with 2 x 50 Yamaha 2strokes
Took her out for first trip. I noticed the that the 1 motor runs about 1000rpm higher than the other. Even when playing with the trims it always runs 800-1000 rpm higher. The one runs smoothly at 4200 with 3/4 throttle open and the other 5200+.

Is this normal? Also what should your max speed be on the combination. With 3 people onboard and no further load I only managedto get 38 km/h?

Thanks

The top speed of your boat seems slow for 50s. I think your props are wrong pitch or your motors are not correctly installed on the transom. The higher revving motor is most probably your right hand motor looking from the boat behind. The right hand motor is cavitating and thus have higher revs. My suggestion is that you should first check your prop pitch. Most boat suppliers would fit the motors correctly. Planer boards fitted on the motors will help reduce the cavitation of the motors.
