Came back from 10 days at Kosi area. Fishing was not that great-been a bit quiet their lately.
Some advice for those travelling there:
Plan trip around tides and also call the park to see which nights you can fish Kosi Mouth-we missed our opportunity.
Black Rock is great but difficult to land Kingies because it is in their nature to head for the bricks making it near impossible to get them out.
Gillies need to be managed. Huge plus for the trip though. They will hassle you for cigarettes but charging them R1 a smoke puts a stop to that. Give them timelines and let them know what you want done and when. They are great for helping out at camp etc. We have used a chap called Rapala from Mqobela camp twice - great at catching live bait, trust worthy and he has good knowledge of the area.
Take water or buy water purification tablets just in case - not to comfortable drinking the tap water there.
All in all a great trip. Bait wise you can't go wrong with live bait (Kingies) and chokka for smaller species. Tried a bit for shark and ray but not much excitement.

How close do the Sardines generally get to Black Rock during the Sardine run?
Anyone had any great success with shark there?
