My son and his buddy fished Koppies over the weekend and caught quite a few fish.

Mostly nice sized muddies, small carp (biggest about 2kgs). Barbel, biggest over 5 kgs and numerous small yellows.

Fish were at 70M plus and SWD with 50/50 dip. Bomb was Braam Stoltz plain.

Barbel took crabs and at night.

Sunday fish were taking caramel brown bread abd Fx on the Bomb.

hi dave ,can you be more specific on the bait ,i'm fishing this weekend a club comp at koppies ,never been there ,and need some good tips to kick ass! can you please help?

Hi yes, baited with a small degie and float on the top and bottom hook. I caught 2 carps on our Sealine Social and had to cast maximum distance. I caught one using a Rietvlei trace and M1 Weight, the other Carp was caught on a Vaaldam trace with a P3 Weight.

Send a PM to HennieG and hear what he used the previous weekend, as he and his sons fished a comp there.

Dips I made use of were Devils Fork and Pink Sweets, Almond, Honey,Vicks and Lootie if I remember correct. Got a very small Cat on a worm. Phillip that fished with me got most of his fish on a sweet degie with Vanilla Essence. (Myself have never made a degie like that).

HI BRAKKANJAN,THANKS FOR ALL YOUR EFFORT,I'M SURE THAT DISTANCE WILL BE NO PROBLEM ,BOUGHT THE NEW "ROCKETS 12FT "OF SENSATION AND BELIEVE ME THEY GO A MILE ,TRYED THEM THE PAST WEEKEND @ THE "PRO SERIES " (VAALDAM) AND HAD EXCELLENT RESULTS,AND WITH YOUR INFO IT WILL BE A SUCCESS AGAIN,THANKS WILL GIVE AN UPDATE AFTER THE WEEKEND
