I don't have my "Kob Diary 2010" in front of me, so I won't be able to tell you what their plans are

look krillin , i have surprise for you !!!

its gonna be on the 18th at the second high tide , Kob president confirmed they will be at Macs !:spite:spite:spite

Jokes jokes , i can see you are new to sealine and lots of great guys that are willing to share , but no human being can predict A KOBSMASH !

try a SE wind , as the windturn towards NW , the SW usually is not that good for rock and surf fishng , in Falsebay , not to make fun of you dude , but keep in mind spot ect ect are a touchy subject...

thanks....look i ust heard from an experienced angler that apparently during this month every year the kob run at strandfontein, so i just thought i'd enquire, whether it be a stupid question or not, i'd rather be made fun of and sound stupid so that i cud find out the truth than 2 be silent and left in the dark, uninformed cz most definately if there is a kob run id like to know about it, and im sure many others would wanna knw 2, so i knew there'd be a risk of sounding stupid, but i was willing to take that risk, cz everyone on this forum had to start off fishing sometime in their life, and unfortunately im starting now.....so i guess stupid questions are all part of the game!

I think the guy who informed you is getting his places a bit mixed up. There is an annual kob run at Paaltjies, but unfortunately it's not the Paalties we are familiar with. It's in Swakopmund and if I'm not mistaken it takes place pretty soon!

Anytime boet. Best advice I can give you is to just go fishing as often as you can and observe, observe, OBSERVE!!! Two years ago I experienced something akin to a kob run at Macassar one night on the switch from SE to NW where between six of us we landed over 100 kob. It happens from time to time when the conditions are just right. According to my records, the sea temp was 16 deg C at the time, and the sea was relatively flat. The action started at 1am (about an hour after low tide) and continued until 6.30 am

like Chris Said , it happens from time to time , last year we had a kob smash at a falsebay spot , we filled up with nine fish in less than an hour , and then the wind swinged around , SW ,the devils wind for Falsebay kob!

and it was all over , however if you take time to study the weather , theres great site , try wind guru ,msw and wavescape , spells of 3 days or more of SE wind followed by a light NW , give you a open 'window ' to maybe experiance a smash !

The best is to FISH , FISH , FISH ! AND SOMETING IS BOUND TO HAPPEN
