Kini Bay

Hey guys, going to Kini Bay in December, are there any good spots and what species should I target?

Hiya RobinF,

Great place to visit, beautiful section of our coastline in PE.

I have only fished the coast a handful of times, but have always caught fish even if it was only a Blacktail or Steenie. Most of my trips have been in not so great conditions.

PM Havoc...he fishes there alot and has an impressive tally of species. He has a secret Poensie spot and may just take you on the long walk to get there?

When the Shad come on there its an experience !!! Not the razorblades we catch in the bay but some size chaps, have personally caught Shad over 4kg there..

The Cob are also prolific at times and I know one old man used to fish there exclusively for Cracker. Some non eds have been landed and what I thought to be a huge Cob turned out to be a Rag pup of about 40kg.
