Can be quite tricky.Best is to go to the mouth at low tide to get an idea of where the rocks are etc.You launch at the ferry and then follow the channel to the mouth....no problem for jetski's to do this at low tide but larger boats sometimes have to wait for the tide to start pushing in.At the mouth you have 2 choices, and they are dependant on the surf conditions on the day.....either go straight out through the surf but you have to be careful of some shallow rocks especially at low tide. This is not a problem for jetskis because of the shallow draft and you can generally see where they are.
The safer option is once you get through the mouth, head 45 degrees to the right and go between the land and the large bricks out to sea which break up the large waves and give you a relatively easy route to the backline which you access on the right hand(southern) side of the bricks.
Coming back is ALWAYS done on the same route around these bricks....not advisable going directly into the mouth from the backline.Be very aware of sandbanks when approaching the mouth, don't speed, just come in at a steady speed and read the water.
