I'll be doing my first fishing competition at the end of the month but need a little advice from you folk.

I want to go catch some mullet as live bait and then transport them to the competition site.

My question, how do I keep these guys alive in the live bait bucket?

Go to Kents KOB Shop ,main road Gonubie , he sells battery operated fish pumps. I bought one and it works for keeping mullets alive.

hi
best advice

1. dont overcrowd the bucket....it stresses the fish.
2. when you get to the beach dig a hole in the sand, cover with plastic and fill with fresh water.

NB: if the mullet are caught in a river you will notice that as soon as u place them into the salt water, they will suddenly appear to be dead....belly up.....stir the water blow into there mouths....mover them with your hands...they will revive. The pond u make does not have to be deep...just enough water 4 them to swim arround.I'ts the surface area that is important.1METER X 3QUATER METER IS ADEQUATE..10 TO TWELVE MULLET FOR THE POND IS ENOUGH.They must have swimming space.Use the pump if u r not going to change the water....2 buckets out 2 buckets in.
