Hello guys, I would like to try bigger fish, namely adriatic tuna on yak. I know it has been done, especially with people who charter boats as motherships, but the equipment for kayak is rarelly seen.
I am assuming two scenarios =
a) I am able to spot for fish feeding using birds and such and pop and speedjig surface
b) I will troll long line either octopus or trolling lure
I would use jigging rod and multi for the trolling setup and about 50 pound line, assuming I could also jig with it if needed
What about popping? I mean on kayak its somehow limited in terms of rods. It cannot be very heavy.
I assume you can spare yardline as long as you can steer to get pulled.
I have caught some rather big catfish from the yak, but that is all close quarter battle.

I already have the reel as I got it as a present. Should take 450 meters of 0.30 line, or in other words 50pound. Something like this for trolling+jigging.

probably fitted with sh saragosa, or something similar, as a popping rod that I could also troll if needed.
Isnt it too much for kayak? I mean- how much pressure can a man really develop, when already dragged?
Example of much lighter rod - lighter in weight, that is, which allegedly casts very good distances.

Same lure rating, but the daiwa rod is only 225 gr. Something tells me, that the blank is just not that thick.
