Kalk Bay Harbour

Hi all,

I'm new to Sealine and fishing altogether. I've been to Kalk Bay Harbour four times in the past week and only reeled in klipvis and harders. The Harbour is rather active with many people fishing...I've only seen one sizeable fish being caught though - anyone know if there has been much action at Kalk Bay recently cause it seems the fish are in short supply?

Hi there,
personally i have never really seen people catching some nice edibles there. Only maybe on the odd occasion (maybe once a year) when the shad/elf comes past to say hello!

kalk bay produces well in the howling SE wind after say day 2, but it is dangerous (swells are up), i know of a an angler who was washed off and then gaffed out.. he was lucky

on the settling SE wind the shoal make there way to the surrounding reefs and come looking for food on predominantly push tide and and the evening... it does become crowded.

average fish is 1.8-3.0kg some bigger fish are caught 8-11kg...BUT

the bossi cob are thick there as well.
