Thanks. Did check condition of rod,rings and reel and found to be ok. I am also using JDB braid 4X for the last year on the same rod and reel, but spool is different and with no problem.

I spoke to the retailer where I bought from and explained, they say I must bring it in and they will have the braid checked out.

sorry to hijack but there was an issue with power pro a while back , they where doing the same thing putting stickers over the diameter of the line and strands .

this is not to say that gosen is a fake that you purchased , just that a person can not be to careful nowadays even reputable shops are being taken for a ride or it could just be a packaging problem.
