Cardinal 704lx, with 8lb Fireline Crystal. If I fish the above mentioned lures or a light weight on a very fast erratic retreive then I get a reasonable amount of knots. I don't think that the reel is overfilled and the line lay seems to be quite good.

FLuke,your reel s NOT over-filled -and I haven't seen your reel .

I Have been Struggling wth said problem for some time now . Even Neilg's guru advice didn't help much , and he knows a lot ,and I was throwing with two different Reels at St Francis . Nothing worked . it did it again and again .

What neil is using is an Exceller . It has , THIS  :

http://www.digitaldagger.com/reels/daiwa/twistbuster.html

and Once you've read it - go out and do what i did: buy yourself either a 2500 or 4000  Procaster as soon as you Can !! Or his exceller Reel, for that matter.Neilo , Next time someone asks you about linetwist you can tell them it's part fishing style( spinning) and Part Tackle .  I have yet to have the same annoying experience with the procaster, which is an exact replica of the Exceller at more than half the price , with ..10 Ball bearings . Smooth as a babies .!

for those that didn't click on the link, it bascially shows you how line twst occurs from the retrieve on certain Daiwa Models. cross, sweep, Regal etc, shoudl all present the same problem . so does My Bg. but Only when used to cast n retrieve On drop shot .

Trustme on thisone , I have a post elsewere on this topic , and to be frank it annoyed the living K@k out of me for some time .

Saturdaay went with goofball and Safish to nab myself a Leervis, and , as can be expected - it did it again . Mid cast- poof - how's your mother pal , here - have a line twist . ^#^#$#%#%$   !!!

Anyhow- Neilg wont experiance this problem , as it just goes to show you top tackle wll reduce unneccassary headaches . ill post a pic of the reel under my topic wen i find it . that twistbuster obviously works like a bomb . It's a simple concept that makes a lot of sense . My braid did the same thing . Casting braid , good casting braid , will resist this , but only to a point .

What a good fight those leeries put up against me with my out-gunned gear . Great fun . I really enjoyed the weekends fishing . Beat the hell out of standing in front of 5m swells at leentjies klip wilderness later on that Day ... !!

I wish. LOL. The only thing I got this weekend was COLD. My post count went through the roof. I'm still landlocked but soon I might just pitch up with Hermann and hopefully join your next mini comp. You can kick my butt in person but at least I'll get a line wet hey.

Ok .

For those of you Wanting to Know what the differences are , and you Not sure Etc etc - allow Me to educate or share would be a better choice of words .

I have been tossing and turning now as to whther or not I should buy the 4000 Or 3000 from the Daiwa Range . As I am Cmpletely new to this - i did a bit Of Searching  .

I also got the bloke to order a 3000 , as the weights being identical baffled me a bit at first .

Today i got to size up the 2500 and the 3000 Models back to Back .Much to My dismay , there is one single difference between the procaster 2500 , and 3000 Range- LINE capacity . As the spools will show , I really had to do a double-take to notice the difference . I refer a slightly meatier Reel , although Neil G swears by the smaller reels . The Only difference between the two is that the 3000 has a deeper cut spool .It took me five minutes to tell the difference , so I thought I'd whip out the camera and put them back to back so everyone else could see as well , and learn from my tireless efforts to buy myself precisely the right reel .

And no- I still can't make up my mind - but I'm leaning so heavily towards the 4000 , as i am taking into consideration that i would want to use the spare spool not for braid , but for Normal Monofilament line , to Baitfish with my son .

3000's a great Reel , tiny little package and will deliver the goods , but My heart is saying 4000 ...
