I past the Jozini dam on my way to Kosibay, and I was totally shocked on the dam level status. According to DWA's website the dam is currently at 57% (last year same time at 76%).

Hopefully this catchment areas get good rains the coming season, the surrounding areas is very dry and the animals is in bad condition.

Yes dam levels are very low, been one of the driest years in the catchment area. Will make for a interesting and challenging Tiger tournament this year

HI

Just wondering if any one has a picture of how low the dam water level is. I looked on the gov web site and it states it is 56.6 % but a picture is worth a thausand words. think I am getting all worked up for the Tiger next month.  ((r(e(ling

Sorry no pic but it is very low. With last years comp the level was at 76% if I remember correctly. Easter weekend I helped pull a family off the inner corner in front of the lodge.

Our normal launch site was moved about 20 meters to the right due to the low levels.

Best would be to keep a eye on the depth on the fish finder if venturing into the river section. Better safe than sorry, as hitting rocks or sand banks could be costly. Stick to the outside(close to the lodge) if going beyond this point.

I would be very reluctant to venture into the river section. Hippos will probably also be more grumpy as there deep water spots will probably be non existent come comp time.

Section from the lodge to the mouth should still be ok.

All the best and stay safe.
