My 2c i would of posted this in the yellow fish forum and not in the bass forum. the yellow fish anglers would prob appreciate it a bit more than the bass anglers.

i'm completely over the top with catch and release. Bass are invasive and destructive, and shouldnt have been allowed into this country in the 1st place, definately not the way it was allowed to be. There are more than enough local fish species that can be targeted by artlure, i think it's just way easier to catch bass or trout, than trying to catch yellows or Ryan's mona lisa.

With river pollution and all the likes the last thing yellows need is a fish like this in the system. Speaking of, there was a dead yellow of 4kg lying in the river about 20 yards down from where we were, a beautiful fish.

Oh and the bass weighed 1.6kg on a scale that a guy got out from the bottom of his tackle box, wouldnt trust it too much but that's what it said...

At the end of the day it is your choice and I will not judge you on that

Hey guys

I alwa try and protect water for all anglers. I come from an artlure background so I enjoy cathing all species. Bass just has a soft place.

I alway try and catch and release, but I have no problems with taking a fish or two. Only when a guy rapes an area and removes everything he catches then I have a sence of humour failure.

To add my 2c....

I have spoken to a few people who are grassland scientists, highly qualified field guides, game rangers, and a few genetics chaps who work on the Tilapia species.

Anyway, it is us bass fishermen that yield the "Love Bass, stuff the other species" sword that make it very difficult for the powers that be to respect us and the species we prefer to target.

Most of us by now know that stocking bass requires a permit as the first requirement, and then there are other issues that are addressed on situational merit depending on the dam they wish to stock, yet people STILL illegally stock bass. That is not good and doesn't help the situation whatsoever.
