Hi Zulu, Yes TT-Lures make some very exciting lures, baits and painted performance jigheads, and dropshot- and casting jigheads. They soon also launching their own softbaits.

Obviously you are familiar with them. Dont want to pre-empt but they will soon be available on South African shores also.

With the dropshotting fad having turned and now started waining as a result of the glut and every Tom, Dick and Harry making soft lures, each claiming to be better than the other, the new tendency and fashion is for a return to the old tried and tested metal-art lures.

Hence Barry Wareham was so quick to see and seize the opening/gap and opportunity in the spin fishing market with their new "Iron Candy" spoons which seems to be an enormous hit and proving successful beyond expectation.

I incidently see that TT-Lures's heavy saltwater jigheads range from sizes 1 oz right up to 8 oz (8 oz - size 10/0 XHW hook) but suppose the heavy more used for jigging. The nice part is that TT uses Gamakatzu hooks.

At this stage best I can share: - watch this space!

At this stage I know that Custom Baits got up to a 4oz jighead. If you gonna fish of the boat and need heavier weight just use the elevator jig they used on the Berkley dvd. Best invention yet for vertical dropshotting in high current areas such as Richards Bay, Cape Vidal and further north.

Hey "Tristar" please PM me when those TT jigheads land. Sounds great for the open market and ever growing sport.

Hello Hilsgra,

Capcom1 asked

"What is the heaviest lead jig head commercially available?"

Heaviest commercially available jig head is the TT Lures Extra Heavy Duty Tournament Series 8oz 10/0 XHW with Gamakatsu hooks, soon available in SA, Watch this space.

Twice the size of yours, with hooks that don't bend.

I've just seen this.

I'm moulding these in the next week or so.

I don't know the weight yet but I figure the biggest one will be over 8oz.

Also got some squid style in these sizes that I have to finish.

Sorry, not commercially available yet.
