Jetski advice needed please

Hi guys,

I have searched the forum and found similar posts but I would still appreciate some advice please.

I want to buy a jetski mostly for fishing so the criteria I am looking at is what is best for a fishing ski. I am going to have a budget of about 120k and at the moment I am looking at the Yamaha FX 160.

My question is this, would it be better to save up some more and buy a new ski or are 2nd hand ski's in general reliable enough to make it worth while?

I dont know that much about jetski's that why I am a bit hesitant about 2nd hand route.

Further what is the difference between the FX 160 and FX 140 from a fishing perspective?

I've got a fx 160 which I bought from Natal Power Boats.I really enjoy it.I can't compare it to other ski s as This is my first one.
I've been down to Sherly Beach with it and Port Edward,no problem in the surf or in the sea.
I see that you are from PTA,I stay at Hartbeespoortdam,give me a call any time,you can take mine for a ride if you wish to.

Hi B-fish,

Nothing wrong with a good second hand yamaha. I know of some FX 140 with over the 700 hours on them. So as long as its been looked after and maintained properly there is no problem with them. Also its always wise to go fishing with a buddy because you have only one engine with a jetski, new or second hand anything can happen.
