In my absence of a week or so i had some action, mostly at night.

Saturday 23/1

Went to a new spot with some club guys and only took mullet with. First flap went in, 15min or so later i had a great run, dont strike dont strike , need i say i used a circle. Just lifted my rod and vas. This thing was fast and by far the biggest ive ever hooked.

At first it didnt take any line, the guys went in to get it when it took of again. And it took of with a mission to strip me, and so it did haha. Cleaned. Lucky i had my backup reel with. I dont mind getting spooled, thats how you learn, trail and error.

Further that night we managed 2 eaglerays , 1 diamond , 3 rags and a kob . Me getting 1 rag 1,23m .

Seems like the shad getting bigger. Only took the 8.6ft exceler . 1st to the walskipper , met up with my spinning partner and managed a few nice ones which we returned. Shouldve seen the disbelieve on the peoples faces haha

Then we went to a new spot i found near town. Spin spin we quickly got a few leke ones of roughly between 40 and 60cm . Taking home 2 and made some pickled curry fish which didnt come out as planned haha

Saturday 30/1

Hooked up with the club guys round about 9 for a trip to kabeljous, where wading is required i might add.i dont like to wade.

Armed with medium sized choka, shad heads and mullet.

The wind dropped round about 10ish and the fun started. 4 guys, 11 runs , 3 hookups.struggled to get very proud hooks to set. Funny , as we got there they said conditions werent right? Still dont know what they meant.

All raggie pups . Every thing went wrong for me. Couldnt get my grapnel to hold for a choka slide. Decided to sommer throw it, and got bitten of? Didnt think that would happen, i mean, choka? Haha.

It went dead at about 1 and we packed up.
