I just heard of some small geelbek coming out, but I think the vis at the moment is shot. Also a bit of ground swell in the bay.

Hope to be in the water actively from next week again.::S

Starting to look good today already, even with a light east. Gonna get stronger tomorrow though. The weekend looking really good. A bit of wind saturday which suits me anyway. I'm one of the fortunate windsurfers in PE, with a constant supply of wind.

Sunday looking good, who's up? Where?

Anyone have a vis report for the Bay and Westside? I hear the water was quite cold down to 8 / 10 degrees through thermocline.

Managed to spear a 4.3kg rock salmon (river snapper) in Algoa Bay on the 9th April.

Couple of other bronze breams, scraps ended in the deep freeze.

Anyone have thoughts for election day conditions in PE area?

Nice on there Zane!

Went out yesterday and the vis is fantastic. About 10m in places in the bay. Not been on the wildside but should be settled by now. Saw a very nice Cracker but was'nt sure of legal size, so left it alone.

Gonna try and escape today too and have a lool see.
Looking good for the wekend again too. Yeeha::S

We went out yesterday afetrnoon, the whole bay has a thermocline below about 8m. Ice cold and dirty.

We found no clean water anywhere, although the upper sections was clean in the deeper water, anything below 8m is trashed!

Also went out yesterday again, worse than the day before which is odd.
Nice westerly today and more coming on Friday, so the weekend looks very good. Also tides are heading to neap tides, less water movement should mean better VIS.

I'm dead keen to hook up with anyone who's headin out. Been diving alone and want to try new spots. Can dive to 10m or so and fullt equipped.

Have a good one!::tight:

Hi Aldo

You and LG could have given a fellow spearo a lift yesterday.  Anyway I enjoyed the swim out to the back, as we had dived on the western side earlier yesterday.  Needed to burn some energy.

Water was ultra crap - bay and wildside, but I have dived in worse.  Suppose diving in cold green sandy water is normal every now and again.

Well Friday looks like the next opportunity to dive - will see what the weather and water has in store for us.

Cheers
Zane

Hi Zane,

I though you were kidding about the lift thing! sorry..:?

We'll tie up again and then you can hitch a ride without having to swim all that way.

I'm hoping the water gives us a chance to get in and get some fish over the weekend.

Mikes Dive Shop, Western road, Central. Only place in town really for spearo stuff, and even then very limited selection. Dending what they're worth and if you need more stuff, you might want to call someone like Rob Allen direct in Durban and he can post to you.
