me and kavers left friday night, around 9:30 pm on route to saldanha, to get a spot as close as possible to the gate for entry at 5am the next morning. we got there at about 11pm, standing about 10th place in the que.subaru seun (well known among the locals!) were in the que before us and we started chatting and tracing up till 3am the morning.

then the surprise....

no fishing in the dam or the dam wall facing the lagoon...  surprise!!

everybody was caught off guard, as most poeple wanted to collect bait in the dam.

to make a long story short, the wind was right (very strong) and the stumpies were on the bite.

most poeple got quota, or close to it, with the bigger stumps showing later the afternoon only.

thanks to ALFIE RANDALL for all the effort HE put into this comp!!! daar is baie manne wat dit vreeslik waardeer om so nou en dan in julle geweste kan gaan vang!

now for some pics.

then there was an attempt to sneak in a power nap, epic fail! the hydraulic braking system of the cargo carriages sounds like a cannon shot with wild fire therafter!

so no sleep as Oom Alfie came to wake us at 3:40...

thanks for a great comp! see you next time!

ps#01:
the wind blew us away by 2pm and we had run out of bait.

all of us got close to quota and some got quota.

the stumps were skelm in the morning but after 11pm they gave up... were practically hooking themselves.

ps #02!

the dam holds no worm at all, as they have migrated to china!

Yes, thanks Stinky was an awesome time and good to see you Subarusean, good times!!! That afternoon session when the bigger stumps starting to bite was a goodie even though being battered by the wind.

Thanks to organisers and till the next time.
