Injured owl

Morning guys. Found this owl earlier today. It has a broken wing.

Does anyone know of a sanctuary or whatever in the P.E./St Francis/J Bay area that can care for it?

Please guys, he is not looking too good

I also found an injured owl a couple of years ago. Parks board advised me to feed it chicken livers wrapped in cotton wool. This helps with the digestive system. Keep it in a dark place. Good luck!!

Eventually a neighbor got hold of African Dawn. They have a vet on standby for such cases. taking it there now.

Hopefully I will have pics of a rehabilitated owl soon.

SPCA will euthinase the owl, look for help else where

the SPCA didn't even cross my mind - they are pretty useless when it comes to things like this

Any news on the Owl ? We took 3 out of a nest at boarding school and reared them ouselves then the Parks Board came and took them away.These were Barn Owls which are a protected species.Amazing birds.

When he stands up high and streches himself, you should know he is going to sh1t on you 

Best thing was day old chicks chopped up..not a lekker job!

He/she was a barn owl and eventually took him to a sanctuary

Also mince but soak long in water first..the salt is not good for them

it seems that our owl is doing ok and will probably be able to fly again.

They also said that it would be returned to our area...

...nobody is stealing our resident owl!!!
