Hallo,

I have a mariner 400 from outdoorwarehouse it's about R3200 for the boat and if you want to add trolling motors you gotta buy it, 34lb motor about R1600 and deep cycle battery another R2000 or so.  You can use normal batteries on it but it wont last that long.

The bottom on this is hard and it's extremely stable we sat 4 in the boat but two comfortable.  The boat your mentioning is probably the one one with the inflated bottom haven't used them but I don't like the fact that it can punchtuer but that just personal choice.

The Mariner 400 has some extra padding to protect against rocks etc, i've had it for couple of years now with no problems. The wind on this is bad, as it's light and hard to row against the wind.

If you are willing to spend a little more you can buy a small dinghy or livingstone (Small Catamaran) for R4000-R6000 including the trailer.

thanks for the info astrix, i was also concerned regarding the bottom been inflatable, the thing is i need an inflatable as i stay in a complex and i dont have space for a trailer or a boat, so the inflatable wud be ideal for me now.

If that's the case I'd go with the Mariner 400 it folds up nicely and doesn't take too much space, i've ran over some bad obstacles and touch wood it haven't got a puchure. You can row the thing while saving up for a motor, good excercise and not as bad as one would think.

Suppose you can strike a deal for a combo, as far as testing one dont know where you are gonna do that but mine was worth every cent I can sit on the side without it capsizing, caught a lot of barbel off it and the occasional bass.

Good luck show the pics once you made your choice.

Hi all ...ARK's inflatables are in another league.
If you are looking for reliabilty then go for either the Otter or the Fishduc ...these are built to commercial specification....unlike some of the cheaper above mentioned boats which are essentially lilo and beach ball type construction.
