Hi

I'm seriously looking to head to Indo in December.

If I may be so brave as to ask: What would a trip like that cost with spearfishing and the works for about 2 weeks??

hey bud, flights can be anything from R6500- R9000.... if you are staying on your own you can stay budget like for R60 all the way to R400 which includes breakfast... you need to budget around R60 a meal per person max... the main thing is knowing where to go and if you want to charter knowing where you want to go because alot of the guys don't have a clue and you need to tell them where you want to be... boat dives you get exposed to alot offish and different species but shore diving is also insane.... it's tuff to say because I'm not sure what you want to do but I would say budget anything from R12000-16000 depending on budget and what you want to do...could even do it cheaper if you just do shore dives...

Thanks man

Very usefull information!

One last question, what sort of permits etc would be needed to do shore and boat dives?

I know that alot of places have different rules from No spearfishing at all, to spearfishing only allowed from a boat. And even only been allowed to "spearfish" with a polespear.

Appreciated in advance

booked it all myself... traveled around Bali and did Nusa Lembongen and Gili Islands...
for chartering the best is to do it from Lembongen because it's alot cheaper but you need to know where you want to go... cause the skippers don't always know... the spearing is super dangerous with the strongest currents I've ever seen!! so you have to be carefull! but the fish are insane!!
did a last stint in G-land  (also booked myself from Bali) and that's where i shot my biggest GT's... but Nusa Penida is the place to be for sure!

Guys if you want to get far away from everyone go to some of the small islands further East of Bali. Try and fly in to Kupang wich is in west Timor from there you will get fish like you have never seen before. Oh and if you surf well you are in for a double wammi and much cheaper than all the islands closer to Bali.
