Looking through the member list, it is noticeable that a large numbers of members have never posted anything since they joined Sealine. Does this not give a false impression of the number of member really belonging to Sealine or am I way off the mark?

I agree. Suggest that if a "member" has not been online in 30 days their membership gets cancelled.

Why be so harsh guys?

Some okes are here to learn, and learn only - have nothing to input...
Others don't know enough to have input
Others are too shy to have input...

There will be nothing worse than having to wade through posts made by guys who really have nothing to contribute, but have to, to stay members... Already there's enuf StRoNt being posted on the site, without having to ask for more...

I take your point Reefman, but If a guy has for example only ever logged on for a couple of minutes say 6 months ago, should he be classified as member - or guest?

Yes I agree... as far as "inactive" members go - those who haven't logged in for 6 months, they be dead wood. Let them go.

I agree with Reefman. Many of us do not get to the sea more than 2 or 3 times a year. Therefor one can't expect everybody to post as much as some of the other members. Point is we still find the information invaluable.

Maybe us inland guys should post more freshwater topics/reports to try and keep the balance.

Agree to this. Freshwater fishing does get very little exposure. Also agree with the str07T idea. It`s really of no value to make postings for the sake of posting.

Is there a mechanism that can indicate the number of times a member visits the site?

Yes like these guys saying Shimano is the best? I think we should also ban these members that just say things for the sake of saying something!!!!
Probably not the best idea , that would leave you with about 5 members all with broken reels!!!!!!!!!
Assuming that we only had five members left (I think we'd only lose 50) at least they'd all talk sense. ;)
