I'm preparing for my next specimen session at Rushmere this weekend - Reports indicate that the fish are not being banked as during the winter - but alas -- I still have faith in that dam and hopefully I could improve on my PB of 9.20kg and break 10.

Lol, I'm sure he's been for a few sessions since this thread was posted here?
Rushmere in winter is abit tough (like many others), but to be expected from such a sized dam. The key is location and presentation. It counts for ALOT more than in summer.

And no5 - at that moment I was completely "deur die k.k" as the 1 tome had me dashing out of my comfy bed ! This bacame my PB for a short while at 11.10kg (broke that at Donaldson with the 12.7kg.

ALso please take note - this is not the way to handle a fish. I know better and was not actually going to publish this foto but thought I should as to explain how "Not to handle a big fish" - NEVER stand while holding a fish that size. Like I said "deur die k.k geslaap"

Nice Jacques, when did you get them?

We were there in June, and also got a few nice ones. Will put pics up, if you want to see them. Between my peg mate and myself - we got 15 for the week end.

Sup Greame - Nice session !

Pic's would be nice. Going back there 27th September - I intorduced a few guys to specimen and trying to get their confidence going at Rushmere. I finished my spree at Rushmere/Donaldson and targeting another dam the next 2 years. The dam I am targeting have produced quite a few biggies the last month or so (20+). Other than that I am preparing for the SA's

I have found that swim 4,5 and 6 produce well. With 5 & 6 probably the only swims that can accomidate more than 1 angler

Hi guys

I've caught a 1.5 kg bass whilst waiting for the big carp to bite. Jacques is right - not many big ones coming out (bass)

The website is: http://www.laurentia.co.za

This is a great venue to build confidence in specimen angling and has yet to let me down. It's also safe and with strict rules that keep the "rubbish" away.My PB is currently standing at 11.87 kg from this water.
