I'm heading out Bergville way next weekend and am keen to fish Woodstock Dam. Does anyone know if it's good for Bass?...and of bank spots to fish from? Thanks

Yep, KZN BETT was held there last weekend 7 bags of 10KG plus!!

While in that area you would do well to try the dam at the eskom visitors center, nice clear water for bass, I had lots of fun with bass while working at the power station.

Sadly I have no advice regarding lure selection Richard, but would be really interested to hear how it goes when you get back. I'm looking for a place to go in December where we can fish from our tubes (preferably a few venues close together).

Hows it Fat Rap any luck on finding a spot? we in the same situation as you. Got a few point and amlooking for somewhere to use em roblem is most of the resorts are booked out already. Best woulda been at Sterkfontein as resort i on the water and guys have said they see plenty bass there. I'm looking for somewhere i can launch my 2 man inflatable.

There's a place near Hazeyview called Pine Lakes Lifestyle Resort which has chalets literally 50m from longmere dam (my gf and I went there last year but were dog sick the entire time.... but still managed some small bass). And there is Da Gama dam not too far which apparently is closed to motor boats. As well as klipkoppie dam. So that seems like the best (and only) option at the moment.

Will let you know if I hear anything else. Please also let me know if you come across any places. :fishn

Kilburn is good for Yellows and Carp, the one wrote about is the small dam on the other side of the road, behind the visitors center.

Thanks FatRap, i'll be sure to report back on how it goes. Looks like Woodstock Dam is a sure bet and if the others in the area are accessible i'm sure they'll be just as good...well, i hope.

Just drive into the parking area and take the road to the left, park at the bank and fish, the Eskom guys will not hassle you, tight lines
