IF YOU WANNA CATCH MORE FISH,KINDLY READ THIS!!!

Because It's Galjoen season,i've been fishing almost exclusively with Wonderworm, Bloodworm,and admittedly I have been catching Gallies regularly.

So,yesterday afternoon,i threw wonderworm out on the 350/4 and decided to experiment with Pilchard on my 400/2.

On the very 1st cast with 400/2(Pilchard),while taking up slack,I felt an enquiry,and then a definite taker, and landed a 43cm Blacktail.

Reckon I've been selling myself short by just focussing on Galjoen,and exclusively only using worm as bait.Probably missed out on a lot of other fish.

So,don't overlook the other baits,as other fish species may be around,and you could increase your catches,with different variations in bait.

Nice fish there Walt. NB: Certainly looks more like a Dassie (Kolstert) to me Walt. Maybe some other Sealiners could just clarify. Very nice fish to make Fishballs (frikkadels) with.

I love a nice fresh blacktail... I like any nice fresh fish for that matter!

Try white mussel as well Walt: easy to collect and a good allround bait that will get you all the species mentioned. Blacktail won't swim past it and hottentot also loves it! In some places, white mussel will catch galjoen when redbait won't.

Nice catch Walt, thats a Beaut of a Blacktail, any one over 30cm is a great achievemant.

Nice one there Walt! I agree with you 100%, spoke to a guy at Suburban today, he just landed a 14kg kob on pillie.  If you listen to most they will say its the prawn that is doing the job.

Dare I ask if this softens the blow of last friday?

nice catch walt.. thanx they do take pilly freely..want to also try trophy's recipe with white mussel and prawn(supposing he used the edible type) and see how it goes..:fishn

Nice one there, similar size to mine, but I caught mine on bloodworm. All good signs cause I had some good pulls which must have been cob, but they are not committing as yet, so the das will do. Mind you very nice eating fish!
