Herewith is the gazette.All licensees had to re-apply for the licences.This was in place for the last two (2) years bu has not been enforced.This process will illiminate generating licence renewals especially for people that have passedon, moved away, forget to pay for years etc.
The person that send out that notification should have done some homework first.

I think the fiasco can get sorted if only people did the work they are employed to do. The contents of the notice is wrongfully structured misleading the public. It is for this reason that I want to attach the said gazette in order to set the record straight. If you deal with the Durban office and the correct people then you should not have a problem in getting the correct information. With regard to your outstanding licence you should have done a follow up.
Majority of the problems are at their head office with the incompetence that will not accept that they are not cut out for the job.
Hope fully this exercise will sort out the problems. Now let us enjoy some good fishing

I received renewals in the mail whoop whoop. No problems or re-licensing for me.

Invoices dated March 2013 but received today.
Both VHF and Ski Boat licences but only for 1 year although I asked for 5 years on the "re-application" documents.

I just ignored this. Eventually I got the renewal slip, I paid and got my new licenses in the mail this week.
No fuss so no need to stress if you haven't re-licensed your units.

Hi Guys,
I recieved a call 1 1/2 yr ago saying i need to renew my license. I said fine but i had not received my license i paid for 1 yr before. Then it was said that I should wait till i get my license. I then proceeded to contact the dbn branch which always seems to be on lunch, and I emailed all my receipts etc to the person that issued them. I then waited for 2 weeks with no response. That was more than a year ago. Since then I have had no joy trying to get this issue sorted out. The person thats handling this at the dbn office says she is waiting for the manager and the manager says its her job and he has to ask her whats going on.
If these people are getting paid to do this job then they either don't know what they are doing or they are collecting salaries for not working there.
