Does anyone have a direct contact I can call at ICASA to follow up on my radio lisence please. I know things are slow but I've been waiting almost a year now and when calling their offices I always end up in a dead end. Papers were send to the Jhb office.

02 Desember 2010 is my aansoek ingedien en die vooie betaal vir my radio lisensie by ICASA, 29mHz. Reg, nou wag ons. Kan niemand opspoor en bly in toe deure vasloop. Heel laas op 3 November vanjaar kry ek iemand in die hande, Mapitsi Modiba, Radio Licensing Officer.
“Meneer jy moet nog R52.50 betaal ter uitreiking van die lisensie.” Word ek meegedeel. Dit word sommer dadelik oorbetaal want ek is nou al ‘n jaar opsoek na my lisensie. So waar as vet het ek nog niks ontvang en niemand antwoord weer hulle fone nie, hel ek hoop nou nie ek gaan nog ‘n jaar wag vir die uitreiking nie.
Nou hoe nou gemaak?

JFE, If you've paid the licence fee, and have a receipt, go ahead and buy the radio, 29Mhz, and CB (27Mhz) fall under the same regulations by ICASA, and you can use the radio without having to produce the licence, as long as you have a receipt, and you pay a yearly licence fee for the use of the frequencies, the 29 Mhz radios come with specific pre programmed frequencies which are used by various organisations, ie Ski Boat, 4x4, and so forth, you just have to select the channel numbers you want the frequencies on.

aplied for licence paid the fees and received the license in three months time but license expires again end of april next year.Isnt this licence valid for one year?Please help

The license is an anual licence, renewable every December for the following year, and should be valid for a full 12 months.
PM me with your details, and I'll try find out what the problem is.

It change to March every year to be in line with governments yearend to make the accounting easier!
