I wanted to make something more appropriate for ou

I wanted to make something more appropriate for our fishing here in Durban. Some will call it a "Stick bait" But it is an old school cigar plug with a modern finish.

There is silver glitter in the final coat of clear. The plug it self measures 125mm long and weighs 75 grams.

Took me about an hour to make.

Perfect leerie slayer.

Hey Tyrone,
Since I do this stuff for myself, I couldn't really care less what wood I use. I use what ever is lying around really. But you are looking for wood or a piece thereof at least that doesn't have eyes. But ja, anything goes for me! As I drive around, I'm scouering for nice pieces of wood. But if you go and buy wood, saligna is good hard consistant wood.

Very good looking lure that, are lathes hectically expensive or not really? this lathe turning looks abit more fun than the good ol penknife:fbash

what type of lathe would one need? I presume the smallest out there?
You don't need anything expensive. Mine is a sh!tty El cheapO, but it works and I don't do mass production stuff so it will last! You can get one from Adendorf for under a grand.

Thanks Mike,

Lathes are cheap. you can get one for under a grand. But make no mistake, a hand carved lure will work just as well.:wfish

Hierdie een is van houd gemaak. Sonder die gewig, 90mm lank sal dit seker so 45 gram wees.

Thanks!
