I bought few - full ceramic - to fit in my coffee grinder ( done for fun of trying them) and had two left as I ordered extra . I was courios to see how strong they are, and... I could not brake one . I also dunk it in water and then in plaster sand and start rolling on a table with force . Washed under water and looked under strong magnifier - no damage - would recommend them all the way. Ceramic is harder then steel.

You don't need to buy Reel X as it is pricy for very small can - Get blue one called Corrosion X marine that is of same viscosity as reel X or even standard red can Corrosion X that is of less viscosity .
Then Corrosion X- HD ( heavy duty ) is like a liquid Grease - when you spray it, it is jelly and then thickens into a nice grease for your gears. Superior product , bit pricy but at the end worth it .
What I would do , spray HD version and then with brush smear around the whole interior of the reel to make a thin film . Spray same thing on gears . Then normal Corrosion X on bearings while they're still out and assemble all back.
P.S. I use Corrosion X at work to protect printed circuit boards from salt ingression on medical equipment . It does wonders truly .

Regarding Ceramic bearings. There are many on Alliexpress with free or very cheap shipping .
Sometimes you can negotiate smaller QTY
Maybe worth a try if you find right size for your reel.
