Better then ordinary heat shrink is "glue lined heat shrink " - that one will never slide off your hook or trace.

on my specimen traces and hooks , I use brown silicon tubing - very small diameter -like 1.5 -2mm OD . Cut a required piece , then soak in benzine for about 30 seconds to swell up , then it slides much easier over the hook eye or swivel eye, etc .. , When benzine evaporates it shrinks back and regains original strength which had before soaking in benzine.
I prefer this more then heat shrink as heating up is tricky in order not to damage line or braid
