I had the Intex seahawk 2 for about a year and went out fishing allot in Swartkops River. I was very happy with it, till one day the sun got to much for the inflatable bottom and it burst, i know i had to let out air because pontoons expands when heated. But never the less ja, it happens.

So i bought the Intex Mariner 4, got the boat for about 6 months now and it is a awsem river fishing inflatable.
It is perfect for 2 people for a comfortable days fishing.

So i have been fishing of these inflatable boats for some time now and their is one thing i just cant stand about them, those inflatable seats.

So i got rid of them and this is what i did to increase comparability and luggage space.

I used a 10 x 10mm, "ONE sided heavy duty sponge tape" to protect the boat. you get it in 5m rolls at you local hard ware store. I got mine from USM (uitenhage saw mills). this stuff sits like snot op n wol kombers.

does anyone know about a product one can use to seal in those vinyl stickers. I am worried if i sit on stem the sides will curl and ruin the sticker?
Any help would be much appreciated.^^..

The best way I can think of would have been to use the negative if the sticker (the part thrown away) then either etch, paint or stain the wood using the sticker negative as a stencil. Remove and varnish over the whole lot.

I'm afraid I cant think of anything you can put over it. With time the sticker will expand and contract but mostly shrink and if you varnish over it, it will just crack up and peel off.

hi Guys,
Thanks for the advice,
Bennie, ja that is my worry about varnish exactly,

I thought about using contact plastic (the stuff you pull over books). Just to seal those stickers in. Is their perhaps a stronger/thicker clear stick on sheet that one can perhaps use?
