Hi All

It has taken a bit longer than what hoped for but we are finally happy with the battery usage and are releasing a new colour into the market.

There will now be the standard green LED Glow Sticks and they will also be available in Blue.

Stocks should be in the stores by the first week of November.

For a full list of stores that stock the product you can visit http://www.saligra.co.za/find-a-dealer.html

Any questions please let me know.

Thanks.

Charles.

Unfortunately not, best bet if you want a local store to stock the product is to just ask them for it most stores are happy to purchase a small test order and then purchase as normal once they have confidence in the product.

Alternatively send me the shops name and contact number that you would like to stock and I will get a sales rep to contact them for you.

Thanks,

Charles

what a great product. using them for the past 5 outings now and bateries show no sign of fatigue. +/- 12hrs a trip...

great product.

would be cool if you guys can make a holder for the lights to clip onto the line.

i know they fit into the normal rubber and cork holders but im not a fan off the rubber holders cos sometimes they cause the line to twist around the eye when reeling in

i smaak using the cork policemen....this light fits snug into it...problem is ...for a tight fit, the light has to be pushed all the way in and that causes the light "head" to catch onto the line.....i hope i explained that properly.

but its not a big issue, i can live with it

other than that....top class product....you will never go wrong buying these lights.

I saw some glowsticks at Sportsmans Warehouse in Springfield on Sunday - claims it glows for 10 years yet there was nothing about batteries - priced at R40 each it would be awesome if it would last even a year.

@ habib

Thanks for the kind words, we are very happy that you enjoy our product.

We are still finalizing development on the holder for the saltwater guys which clips onto the rod tip, after this is done we will look into how we can improve on the cork holder so that it does not catch onto the line.

Any other ideas just let us know we are always looking to improve.

@ coop

Great will send them a PM shortly.

looking at just the variable portion of this equation 400 hours per battery pack gives you 33 nites..at a 12 hour nite. this means at R3 a packet of normal glow sticks you have to buy 18 packets at a cost of R55 to get the 33 nites this glow stick gives you ..

As I said this does not take in consideration the capex spend of the initial one stick of R30

ps .. i do smell some advertorial origins in this tread...

@ Gertus

Thanks for your reply.

Taking variables into consideration:

Saligra Led Stick Retail = R20 - R30
Saligra Cr322 Battery(2) = R20 - R25

Total low cost for +- 400 hours R60 including LED
Total high cost for +- 400 hours R80 including LED

Chemical Glow stick Retail = R3 - R5.50 per packet

Total low cost for +- 400 hours - R54
Total high cost for +- 400 hours - R99

After your initial purchase of the LED the pricing becomes:

Total low cost for +- 400 hours R40
Total high cost for +- 400 hours R50

So yes the initial purchase could work out a little more expensive or cheaper depending where the products are bought but after the initial outlay for the LED the big savings come from the batteries.

The other advantages are a much brighter light ( chemical does not come close ) as well as the ability to turn the LED on and off as you please. Not everybody fishes through the night, and rather than cracking a glow stick and 3 hours later throwing it away you just turn the LED off.

Any other questions please let us know.

I just saw this thread so let me add my 2 cents worth? I have used teh saligra glow stick for 6 months with no problem and still running fine on the original batteries. For me, the key distinction is the clarity and brightness of the led light - you can see it from 100-150 meters and it does not fade like the chemical glow sticks. its a no brainer unless you want to skimp on the initial led purchase.

second on that,

of recent the quality of glow sticks have begun deteriorating they aren't as bright and dont seem to last long enough any more,

but also take into account that with winter the chemical glow sticks
dont burn as bright

having that sed these lights are bright and work well

@saligra - please confirm how long they last -
the package says 50hours but i'm reading here
of 100hours and 400hours i'm a bit confused?
